This bright, fresh blend is named after the home of Moon Roast, the beautiful Candover Valley in the heart of rural Hampshire. A very special place, unknown to many, this blend is inspired by that first cup of coffee looking out over the stunning views that surround the roastery. / Peru San Ignacio, Chirinos | washed | 1700 masl | mixed varietals Our founder Fran recently journeyed to Peru, with his eldest son Tom, to meet our producers in San Ignacio Province. This coffee blend combines micro-lots from smallholder producers in the three main coffee-growing areas of San Ignacio: Chirinos, San José de Lourdes, and Tabaconas. This area has ideal growing conditions for coffee with altitudes above 1700masl and the area is truly starting to showcase much of its hidden potential. Many producers still have the old, pure Arabica varieties: the main varieties being red and yellow Caturra, Castillo and Typica with some ancient Bourbon plants scattered almost at random. Producers in the area pick and process their coffee themselves- this coffee is dry fermented for 24 - 36 hours before being dried on raised beds. / Colombia San Sebastián | washed | 1700-2000 masl | Caturra & Castillo This coffee is produced by smallholder growers in Inzá municipality. Part of the Tierradentro region located on the western side of Cauca, a region that is 80% inhabited by an indigenous tribe called the Paeces. The average size of the farms here is 0.5 to 1.5 hectares, each producing microlots. Working together as a community they are able to combine their harvests to create a large enough volume to be sold to buyers. Our importers Cofinet collaborate with other small coffee companies, Occicafe Colombia and Globalcafe, to establish a direct relationship with the farmers and have better control of the quality. Grown in a region blessed with volcanic soil and optimum rainfall that allows arabica cultivars to flourish, this environment creates a coffee that is bold and delicious.
