What You’ll Need
To brew with an AeroPress, you’ll need:
- AeroPress Coffee Maker (the sleek clear model is a great choice)
- Freshly Roasted Coffee (we recommend our Colombia San Sebastian or Ethiopia Chelbesa)
- Grinder (a consistent grind is key—our Wilfa Svart Grinder is spot on)
- Filtered Water
- Scale (optional, but it makes everything more precise)
- Timer
AeroPress Recipe:
Step 1: Prep Your Equipment
- Place a paper filter in the AeroPress cap and rinse with hot water. This preheats the brewer and removes any papery taste.
- Attach the filter cap to the chamber and place it over your mug or carafe.
Step 2: Grind Your Coffee
- Use 15g of coffee (or 1 scoop with the AeroPress spoon) and grind to a medium-fine consistency, like table salt.
Step 3: Add Coffee and Water
- Add the ground coffee to the chamber and give it a gentle shake to level it out.
- Start your timer and pour 240ml of water at 85–90°C over the coffee.
- Stir gently for 10 seconds to ensure all the coffee is wet.
Step 4: Plunge
- Insert the plunger into the chamber and press down slowly—it should take about 30 seconds.
- Stop when you hear the hissing sound.
Brewing Tips for the Perfect Cup
- Start with Fresh Coffee: Freshly roasted beans make all the difference.
- Experiment: Tweak the grind size, brew time, or coffee-to-water ratio to find your sweet spot.
- Keep It Clean: Rinse your AeroPress after every use for the best-tasting coffee.
Why We Love the AeroPress
The AeroPress is a brilliant mix of simplicity and precision. It’s ideal for showcasing the unique character of our coffees—whether it’s the bright, fruity notes of Ethiopia Washed or the chocolatey richness of Brazil Coffee.
