We’re absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news – Moon Roast has received three Great Taste Awards for 2025, bringing our total to 17 overall now!
These prestigious awards are the most trusted food and drink accolades in the world. Each year, over 12,500 products are blind-tasted by a panel of more than 500 chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers – and only a third receive an award. That’s why this means so much to us.
Unlike other awards, Great Taste isn’t about branding, packaging or hype – it’s purely about flavour. We’re so proud to know our freshly roasted beans impressed the experts.

The Winners and What the Judges Said
LUNAR – Great Taste 2-Star Winner
Our signature Lunar blend picked up an impressive 2-star rating, with judges praising its juicy, complex character and exceptional balance. Here's what they had to say:
“There is an interesting aroma on the beans, slightly cakey and enticing. The coffee offers up some great, rich, fruity funk on the nose, which is carried through the palate generously and lastingly.”
“Juicy, with clear fermentation on the nose… a cohesive blend, with top notes of orange and milk chocolate. Milk teases out the nuanced buttery notes and a slightly chewy tannic finish. Outstanding flavours.”
“Black, it has an acidic character – but with milk, the blend transforms into something rich and juicy. An even, medium roast with depth and clarity.”
MOONSHOT – Great Taste 1-Star Winner
Our Moonshot blend took home a 1-star award – recognised for its bold flavour and flexibility as both a black coffee and milky brew:
“Evenly roasted small beans with a rich aroma. Full flavour, smooth and balanced. With milk, the blend shows its quality.”
“Nutty and slightly floral bouquet. Silken mouthfeel that opens with bright fruit acidity, mellowing into something fragrant and lasting.”

HALF CAFF – Great Taste 1-Star Winner
Don't forget our Half Caff either! This balanced, easy-drinking option earned a 1-star rating for its mellow complexity and beautiful depth of flavour:
“Medium roast appearance, fruity notes on the nose. Balanced with sweetness and acidity.”
“Chocolate aromas, pleasing body, gentle bitterness. Light sweetness and some length on the palate.”
“Earthy honey notes, warm spices, and a hint of rooibos tea and marmalade. A mellow, balanced character.”
